Rita Fuller-Yates

Rita Fuller-Yates is a Columbus, Ohio native, author, historian, and media personality. She graduated from Columbus East High School and Ohio University with a degree in History. She later earned her master’s from Savannah College of Art and Design. Rita started her first business in 2000 and her second in 2014.

She has authored three books, including “Life, Camera, Action! A guide to Hosting and Entertainment” in 2015, “Columbus Black History – Images from our past, Volume I” in 2022, and a children’s book, “Just a little girl from Long Street,” also in 2022. She plans to release a second volume on Columbus Black History in February 2023.

Rita serves as a Lifestyle Expert on local Columbus news channels WSYX 6, Fox 28, and WBNS 10TV. She also founded and produces “Columbus Black News” and hosts the digital program “History in da Streetz,” focusing on African American history in Columbus.

As a teacher and speaker, Rita educates corporations on the value of local black history, drawing from her own experiences growing up on the east side of Columbus. She also started city bus tours in June 2022, featuring Columbus’ historic African American communities.

Rita sits on the trustees board of the Columbus Landmarks Foundation and the Columbus Historical Society.
